Your carousel is a precision instrument. To keep the internal gears healthy:
The Sonnet (Wind-up): Turn the key gently until you feel a slight resistance. Do not over-wind. A partial wind is safer and just as musical as a full one.
The Kinetic (Hand-spun): When spinning the scene by hand, always use a slow, steady motion. Avoid "flicking" or high-speed spinning, as this can wear down the internal bearings.
For carousels with lights:
Use only the recommended battery or USB power source provided.
To preserve the LED life, we recommend turning the lights off when the room is unattended.
Keep the battery compartment dry and free of dust.
Because our sceneries are uniquely detailed, they can catch dust in small crevices.
The Golden Rule: Never use water, glass cleaner, or harsh chemicals. Moisture is the enemy of the materials and internal mechanics.
The Best Tool: Use a soft, dry makeup brush or a clean paintbrush to gently whisk away dust from the figurines.
For vdeep cleaning: A quick puff of "canned air" (the kind used for keyboards) from a distance will clear out hard-to-reach spots without touching the art.
Sunlight: Direct sunlight can fade hand-painted details and warp delicate wood over time. Keep your Muse in a shaded or indirectly lit spot.
Temperature: Avoid placing your carousel near heaters or in damp areas (like bathrooms), as extreme shifts can affect the mechanical timing.
